Should I withdraw?

I recently received a deferral letter from UofC (my first choice school). My stats are relatively mediocre, though I think my essays/recs kept me from rejection. I don’t know how my first semester grades will be, and I know that the pool will only get more competitive. My second choice is Carleton College, a school that–up until last September–was my first choice. I love Carleton and feel that much of the “quirkiness/intellectualism” that attracted me to Chicago appears there as well. Carleton offers an ED II round–which I think will be necessary for me to even have a chance. Should I withdraw my Chicago app and apply early to Carleton? Would someone be willing to read my Chicago essays/stats to see how my chances are RD?

Thank you and good luck to everyone.

Hmm… I don’t think that you have to withdraw from EA until you RECIEVE your ED decision - e.g., give it a change and leave your UoC file open.

I might be wrong.

kodama is right, see
