Should I worry about this?

For class A, we have to keep a rough journal for each week’s discussion. We’re supposed to be doing it each week, but almost everyone is working on it now, as it’s due in a few days.

I asked a friend of mine to email me his journal so I could get ideas as to what to write. Unfortunately I wasn’t thinking straight, and told him to send it to me AND the teacher in the same email. So the teacher can see it went to me as well.

I’m not going to copy his (and never was, I just needed a rough idea of what we were supposed to be doing). Should I be concerned with this / is it considered cheating? The journal is only about 5% of our total grade and isn’t really checked for grammar, only for completion.

I would not even use his for ideas now. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what you’ve done, in theory, but it is going to look suspicious as hell now and you will have no defense if the prof accuses you of cheating.
