Should I write a 250 word essay?

This may sound a little tough, but is worth considering. Getting admitted isn’t all about what you like, want, think. It’s about what the adcoms think of you- and the primary vehicle is the CA. If you can write wonderfully in 250 words, maybe ok. But, you risk coming across as not quite fleshing out the piece, as they wish. It can sometimes leave an impression you willingly ignore the process and its purpose, in favor of what you think is best. So, it has to be a careful decision. Under 500 is fine, 250 seems almost wilful.

Despite all the talk on CC that they want kids who are different, they’re going to look to see how you “fit.” That’s not conformity, it’s making the college work well as a unified whole.
