Hi all,
I don’t have much to write about concerning my personal essay on Common App. Either than my brother’s illness (which I feel is more exploitative towards my brother and his journey rather than a “look-at-how-I’ve-grown” essay), I feel as if I have no concrete ideas as to what I want to write about. Here are some things I have been considering:
-I am a volunteer Disney Princess for a company. We dress as princesses, heroes/heroines, etc. and volunteer our time towards entertaining children with illnesses/going to local children’s hospitals/raising money/participating in charity walks for a cause. It is definitely something that those in admissions would not see often and I believe that it could make me stand out!
-I’ve co-directed a local children’s theater camp in the summer for three years now and am currently directing a student-ran one-act at school with student acts. I am heavily involved with theater; hopefully writing about something I love and using that passion to enable others to discover theirs or fuel their love for theater will exemplify my commitment towards an activity, my interest, etc.
