Should I write somewhere in my app that I underachieved?

<p>I have a 3.4 uw gpa, and I have taken multiple APs. I also have high test scores(both sat and ap). My low gpa is primarily due to a lack of effort throughout HS. However, I have shown an upward trend with my grades. Should i include in my app(not essay) that i feel I underachieved, and I blame myself?</p>

<p>yes if u believe you can write a strong essay on the topic…but be positive and instead of blaming it on urself, talk bout the lessons uve learned, ur changed perspective etc</p>

<p>HR: I don’t think you need to state that explicitly. The sort of colleges you’ll be targeting will admit you in a formulaic fashion. They’ll churn your GPA and scores and tell you the result. It’s unlikely that your “grey area” story will matter much. These types of schools have no essays.</p>

<p>Plus, your transcript and scores already say what you want to state. Good luck.</p>
