Should i write the optional paper if i had bad 1st semester?

<p>I had a 1.85 gpa first semester. I came back with back-to-back good semesters and now have a 3.3. Should i write the optional paper? Here is the prompt.</p>

<p>Absolutely. I asked the same question when I visited different schools. I need one because A. For all three semester at my current school, my hearing equipment has broken down repeatedly. B. I have struggled with massive ear infections all my life. C. I’ve had multiple surgeries to fix my health problems. D. My mother has been in kidney failure until April 2011, had a transplant, and almost died from the surgery.
If you’ve had equally bizarre circumstances, write that paper.</p>

<p>What if my reasons are not as bad as yours? My reason is that I was just a bit stressed from my grandmother getting cancer, but it was not like i was UNABLE to get good grades…</p>

<p>Were you home a lot? Were you asked to help your parents? Was this the first death you ever witnessed?
If it’s the latter, write it. Many people are hit hard by their first concrete death. While we hear about people dying everyday, it’s incredibly different when the person dying is somebody you know quite well.</p>

<p>My grandmother has not passed, she is still alive and doing well.</p>
