should laptop sleeves be bigger or smaller?

-to clarify: for the dimensions.
-also how do you measure your laptop so you’ll know exactly what size you should get?

At this site:

http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm

you find your laptop company/model and it’ll give you the dimensions/size.

I say bigger–just me

A good description will tell you exactly what kind of laptop will fit in the sleeve…if you find a sleeve that you like that doesn’t indicate which laptops fit, try googling the product for other hits. I just got my laptop sleeve, from Tom Bihn, and it is seriously awesome. I love it. His website has detailed drop down menus that tell you which size is correct for you laptop, and in my opinion, his styling is much better than the vast majority of laptop sleeves and backpacks and accessories. Also, I was happy to find a vertical laptop sleeve, because I want to keep using my backpack and a horizontal sleeve necessitates taking the whole thing out of the backpack to get at the laptop. (The one I bought is called Vertical Soft Cell, if anyone cares).

Remember when you measure your laptop that the screen size is on the hypotenuse, ie my 15.4" MacBook Pro actually has dimensions of 14.1’’ x 9.6’'. I think you want a sleeve that fits your laptop snugly…the point is that you don’t want your laptop flopping around, right?
