What do you think? Some colleges have banned them. On the other hand it seems like many college students are really into these reality shows on basic cable and the streaming services have come out with excellent documentaries on the history of spaceflight. A few months ago Netflix came out with an excellent documentary on the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster and in a few days a documentary on the Mercury Seven.
Or would movies like “First Man” and “The Martian” be better at getting college students interested in space?
The only reason I’m aware of that a college has banned streaming services - my daughter’s Purdue, in some areas - was that it was negatively impacting bandwidth/availability and they wanted to ensure that students were able to access needed resources in lecture halls, labs, etc.
Have they been banned in places due to content? That would seem very odd, as college students are adults.
Fwiw, a Google search finds me no other stories on the topic.
