Should these things be mentioned at all?

I think maybe they could add to my application a little, but I really have no idea. Any advice? Should I include these things?

1.) Instead of taking Beginning Journalism freshman, I decided to challenge myself by taking the most Advanced Journalism (or Newspaper). I took the initiative to speak to the adviser and was also the only freshman during my year (and the first freshman at my school) to be admitted to take the Newspaper class (actually writing for the newspaper) instead of Beginning Journalism; I submitted work samples and was deemed qualified to pass out of the intro class and able to write for the paper.
2.) I was also the only sophomore in my class that wanted to and qualified to take AP English Literature during my sophomore year; my freshman English teacher and my freshman Spanish teacher both recommended I take this class, and through submitting work samples to AP English Literature teacher, I was deemed qualified.
3.) In my freshman Spanish class, my teacher deemed me advanced enough to construct my own “independent study program” instead of the regular class work. I completed more challenging projects and crafted a more rigorous curriculum for myself.
4.) In my freshman English class, my teacher did something similar for me. Because she deemed me very advanced, she constructed an “independent study program” for me; I read more challenging books, did more challenging assignments, et cetera.

So, what do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! :)

1 & 2: Your HS profile will show what courses are offered and so adcoms will see that you’re taking advanced courswork early. Have your GC mention this in your evaluation.
3 & 4: Have those teachers send in LORs and discuss your independent work.

Whenever possible, avoid tooting your own horn, it makes a much bigger impact when someone else does it ;).

Haha, okay. Well, I can’t have my teachers who did the independent study send LORs because they were 9th grade teachers. But maybe I should tell my GC about it and he could mention it in his evaluation?

Sounds like a plan! :)

Good luck!
