Should we mandate that American flags flown be produced only in the US of A??

<p>There is nothing stopping people from buying the US made flags. They exist. <a href=“http://www.flagstoreusa.com/[/url]”>http://www.flagstoreusa.com/&lt;/a&gt; for example. They are more expensive. If the concept is that important to you, pay the money.</p>

<p>I doubt that any state will spend one nickel on enforcement. This movement sounds like pure political posturing. The sad thing is that legislatures spend their time on nonsense like this instead of solving real issues.</p>

<p>No real need for a law. Just a campaign to get people to only buy American flags produced in the USA. Then stores will stop stocking them, importers will stop importing them, and we can all rest, assured that our American flags are made right here in the grand old USA, creating more jobs for Americans in the sweatshops of the Mariana Islands.</p>

But where are the thread, dye, and flagpole made?</p>

<p>Although the material item of the flag might be imported sometimes the important aspect of the flag, its symbolism, isn’t so I don’t see the relevance of the country of manufacture.</p>

<p>Gasoline is $3 a gallon and rising, Fewer Americans have access to health insurance and those that do can’t get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time with a decent doctor for care, perscription prices are through the roof, tuition costs continue to outpace salary gains, our state is 48th in the nation in education, more and more of our jobs are being outsourced overseas…</p>

<p>Clearly there are countless things that are more important than where our flags are made, but the powers that be continue to distract us from the important issues with this made-up, inflamatory garbage. Just how long are the American people going to listen to this stuff before they catch on?</p>

<p>It’s not so bad. I just came back from the UK where their tax alone per gallon of gas is higher than our entire price per gallon. If you want to hear some health care system stories, talk to someone in the UK about their national health care system.</p>
