Should we of choose DUS instead?

My D applied first day application was available. She applied to PSU UP with option for summer start to Eberly for Forensic Science. I realize it could be till Jan 31st but all her friends who applied are hearing back and now I feel like I gave her bad advice on putting a major down. She like many others wants UP but is more than willing to go in Summer.

Any opinions if we should call and try to change to DUS or let it go? Her Sats scores were not great but her GPA is 3.8 and she has had 9 ap classes and is doing dual enrollment at the local Community College.

Also captain of cheer squad, NHS, friends forever, key club and lots of volunteering plus this year she was chosen as an All-American Cheerleader.

I would not panic at this point…Eberly is not quite as competitive as Smeal or Engineering, she’s said yes to summer, and tons of offers will go out before winter break. Truly, the majority of people who get an offer won’t hear until January. And the apps aren’t sorted by school, so I don’t think that is meaningful. (that her friends have heard)
