SHSAT for rising 10th grader?

I’m taking the SHSAT this August as a rising sophomore moving to NYC from a different state. About what score is needed to get into Stuy or Brooklyn Tech for tenth grade? How many rising sophomores take the test, and how many seats are open for the August test-takers? Any advice, anyone?

I wish I had a lot of answers for you. We came from out of state, and my DD took this test with very little test preparation. Did well enough to get into all but 2 of the schools, I believe. (She scored a 525.) Still, she decided against Brooklyn Tech due to the size. Opted for Brooklyn Latin. Didn’t need a high score for Brooklyn Latin, but it’s a really good school, and she knew her teachers would actually know who she was. So I say that to say consider Brooklyn Tech carefully. I think it’s the very largest of all the Specialized schools, and sometimes a smaller school may actually be a better fit if you are coming from out of town.

Best wishes!

Thanks for answering! Was she a rising 9th or 10th grader?
