Shutting down safe ride/ on call!

<p>Supposedly RISD is closing down their “safe ride/ on call” program. Has anyone else heard this? Does this mean that our kids shouldn’t go to RISD?</p>

<p>Conceivably they cut down or are considering cutting down the hours of “on call” service (i.e…, door to door – but that would be news to me), but it’s extremely doubtful that they cut down the standard extended hour point to point route that they operate cooperatively with Brown.</p>

<p>Ah, here’s a post from yesterday by a student on the RISD intranet, apparently based on rumor. I don’t think there’s any general announcement. Whether it’s actually the plan or not, though – I’d like to know. I do think the on-call door-to-door is a valuable option especially for late night. I’d also like to know how much it’s used, and what the point-to-point shuttle service adjustments might be.</p>
