<p>I am a junior in high school, and I am planning on applying to Cornell CALS next year. My sister is a rising sophomore in the Human Ecology school. Do I have a slightly better chance of being accepted since my sister is already a Cornelian.</p>
<p>I (a parent) was told by an alumni that having a sibling is a factor, obviously positive, that is considered in the mix, although the school does not officially acknowledge it.</p>
<p>My oldest was accepted and had been attending the last few years, and my youngest applied this spring and got in.</p>
<p>it’ll be looked at, but it will not compensate for lackluster GPA or SATs</p>

<p>I know! I’ve been out of it since like November and I’ve come to miss the Cornell talk. I haven’t been on campus since last December (so sad) but I will be there several times this fall. Being a student is way more fun than being an alum. </p>
<p>I remember you “announcing” hibernation, way back when. Glad you’re back! I think i’ll stick around for a wee bit, it’s nice here…</p>
<p>Well, I won’t be back too much, probably, basically rehibernating, though occasional relapses like this may occur. Mission accomplished, as it were, another year before #3 becomes active.</p>
<p>jeez, #3 - that’s a whole lot of effort and stress, I don’t even have the patience to let my dog out of the house when she barks at the door…</p>
<p>…and #2 went and transferred when she was supposed to have been done with already, which is what brought me back. Got me a couple half-suis out of it though, so I guess I can’t complain too much.</p>
