I’m sorry to hear that the half way house is not well run.

Thanks for checking in, fauxmaven. I think about you and your S often and keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for checking in, fauxmaven. I think about you and your S often and keep you in my prayers.

Glad to read your update. Hoping for a happy and bright future for your son.

fauxmaven, thank you so much for the update.

Hope he gets out of the halfway house soon. Thanks for the update, and cyberhugs to you!

Things are definitely looking up. Glad you both made it through this so far.

Thinking about you, fauxmaven. You’ve done such a good job taking this one step at a time.

I was just thinking about you and happy to see your updates. I am sorry the halfway house is a problem, but hopefully your son will move on soon, especially since he has a job lined up. As arabrab said, one step/one day at a time.

What’s up with your daughter? I think about her when I see your name come up…

She will graduate this December. Her professor in 1 class called her, " The next Angela Davis…"

How is the half way house worse than prison?

It is very boring and the food is much lower quality than the prison. The civilians are not well paid and really don’t have the skills necessary to make the seminars stimulating. There are not as many things to do there. There are 900 people, in different units that don’t mix. There are county jail inmates, women inmates, mentally ill inmates, drug inmates and 1 other group. The ratio of staff to inmates is much lower than a prison.

Goodness!

Hello to all my CC friends. My son is now in another 1/2 way house closer to me. This one looks like a house, no scary wire around it. HOWEVER, the neighborhood is scary. There are 12 other 1/2 way houses in the area. Looking back, only 1 awful thing has happened so far. An older man, 50+, died in front of my son’s group. He apparently had a brain anuerism and by the time my son took it upon himself to notify the people in charge, who called an ambulance, it was too late. This sort of thing is terrible in itself, but the fact he did not receive attention earlier is very sad…thought you would like to hear from me about my adventures.

I do. Your son has made it thru the worst. How is your daughter doing?

Thanks for the update. How much longer does he have to be there?

Thanks for he update. I continue to keep you and your S in my thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear it! Is he working?

So good to hear your update! How long is he in this halfway house? Did he get the law clerk job?

Appreciate the update. I’m glad he’s closer to home, and continuing to progress. Thinking of you all.

Sounds like the worst is over. Best wishes for all of you.

Can’t work till he is in a house with work release- hopefully in 3 months. Daughter will graduate in December.
