Sick With Worry- My son is assigned to the WORST prison in our state.

That is good to know, fauxmaven.

Very happy to hear that.

I am so happy for your S and for you, fauxmaven.

excellent news, and thanks again for the update!

I am so glad for him…and for you. Thanks for some good news today.

So glad it seems your son is doing better. I hope he stays on a positive path.

Hooray!

fauxmaven, such wonderful news, thanks for sharing with us.

Any update on your daughter?

Like what? That she’s planning to become a permanent resident of Sweden, has a nice Dutch boyfriend? We are going in DEC to meet the family of the boyfriend. She would like to start a translation business in Sweden. She graduated Harvard in Dec of 2014.

Guess I asked for that! I never thought she would be lured overseas permanently. Hope the December trip goes well.

Son is very poor but getting by. He is managing to stay out of prison, but wants to be an entrepreneur and not work for someone else. Not sure what he is doing for income.

Am wishing for the best for your S, fauxmaven.

Hugs, fauxmaven. I think he can do well in life in the end… maybe he can consider an evening law school… As long as he is told that he is bar-eligible (a prior conviction is not an automatic bar to law practice). With his life experiences, he can work for someone else for a couple of years, get some extra credentials, and then hang his own shingle!

More good news! My son finally got the job he wanted in a Marijuana Dispensery. The job is legal and has medical benefits…

That’s terrific! It’s a new world – my 80+ year old FIL is involved in a marijuana business! Your son has accomplished a great deal in a couple of years. You and he must be very proud. Thanks for keeping us posted, fm.

It is always good to have a job, but with your son’s history, do you think it is the kind of job he should have?

He should have a legal job that interests him and he does. Hooray for him for finding that and hooray for mom for supporting him and all of her children through this difficult time.

Sounds like a bad idea to me.

I’m happy for you, FM, that he has a legal job but would be concerned about the temptations inherent in working at this job with MJ and some of the folks he may come into contact with. It’s a developing industry and has more than it’s share of glitches, which I heard about from medical professionals at a conference I attended 5/2015.
