<p>There’s a big different between Siemens semi and regional finalist.</p>
<p>I’d say a heck lot of Siemens semifinalists, and pretty much all the Siemens finalists.</p>
<p>There is not much of a difference between semis and finalists. A lot of this is up to the whim of the grader and so there is subjectivity involved. Also the only difference that exists is since there are more semis the chances of having less qualified candidates is more likely.</p>
<p>I would say there is quite a bit of difference between semifinalist and regional finalist. And of course it’s up to the grader. Just like in real life, when it’s up to the whim of the editor of a journal to send your paper for peer review.</p>
