I havent given it yet. BUT I have an average score of 2250 on around 5 Practice tests.

Cant comment about SAT II. Though I gave a Phy practice test full 800.

General precaution, if you list everything about you on here, admissions offices could figure out who you are and what schools you’re looking at. I have no clue what your academic grades mean but your ec’s look good. Definitely apply, make sure your guidance counselor can explain what all this means, and, as with everyone, hope for the best but don’t be surprised either way.

do admission officers really lurk around here and note applicants?!

Lurk might not be the right word and I doubt that anyone’s out to get you, but they are many schools that openly have admissions staff members on here and many more that do so less publicly. Shouldn’t be a problem unless you say something really offensive/openly bash a school that you applied to etc. and happen to be identified. A bigger problem would be posting an entire essay etc. for hundreds to plagiarize. I also tend to be more cautious than others about internet security…
Good luck with Princeton!

Thank You!

Yes, they look around here. No, I’m quite sure they don’t note applicants.

I will keep that in mind!

It’ll be a toss up. There are alot of esoteric foreign awards that most adcoms won’t be able to gauge. You do have potential though.

Where does my magazine go on the forms? under Achievements ECs or where?!

It’s one of the lesser impressive parts of your application. I know plenty of kids who could simply make a webpage; Considering that it says MITHOPEFUL that is going to KILL your chances at other universities. It’s like sending an essay to Princeton about how much you like MIT. Why would they accept you if you haven’t convinced them that Princeton is the place that you need to be. Many other kids have. To be honest I had my brother (A bio major) take a look at the articles and he said that it is trash and could easily be found in a textbook. I wouldn’t even include your site on any application other than MIT.

hmm… it isnt actually for College students. And yeah about the MIT thing, I merged my project with the MITprospective project because I needed hosting space
Another thing that is coming up with the magazine is a research organisation that will help students conduct research and allow them to share their findings with other students.
Anyways thanks for the feedback…I will keep that in mind ;)

So what is the strongest part of my app?

Everything can be found on textbooks and bibliography in general IMO 1MX. The crimson for example wrote an article about the 2008 application pool’s stats. The point is what you do with the facts you have, not the fact that they are textbook info, IF that is really the case. Evaluate it from a more literary approach. Then it might not fall short of people’s “New York Times” expectations. ;)

This is my point of view:
[ol]Buttered Bread On The Back of a Cat : Which Side Falls First ?–> I am sure that many textbooks add that witty an aura to a phenomenon.
[li]Brown University - A brief intro from a student! –> I am confident that tons of Brown students would appreciate this close and rigorous insight, that CANNOT be found at ANY site. Actually, I am going to recomment the second one to the Brown forum. :)[/ol] [/li]Just my point of view on some of the articles.

impressive. I think you have a good shot.

^^
ditto…darn, I have serious competition!

FredFredBurger Class of 2012?! Join the thread in the International Students forum :wink: {though you are not an international you are welcome there :smiley: }

Thanks, I’ll remember that.
