<p>i know it isnt a long, impressive resume but i only chose a few so that i can dedicate my time to all of them… i cant post all that i have to offer in one message, i guess im just looking for some advice…</p>

<p>5.61 GPA? No offense, but it seems your school has a good deal of grade inflation. Coupled with low test scores, that only confirms my suspicions.</p>

<p>But assuming you’re an URM, I would say you still have a pretty good shot since colleges won’t be as critical of your SAT scores and will focus more on your ridiculously high GPA.</p>

<p>I’d say you’ve got high chances at all your schools except for Princeton. I have no idea what they’d make of you.</p>

<p>i dont the GPA has to do with inflation as much as it has to do with the IB Program. The IB candidates are rated on a 6.0 scale because then students who were in the regular classes would probably be ranked higher, which wouldn’t exactly be fair…because everyone knows a A in a regular class isnt exactly the same as an A in an IB course or AP for that matter…</p>

<p>BU recalculates your gpa anyway so it doesn’t matter. They unweight everything including AP and IB. I Suppose they do this to give you credit for a callengeing course only once, and that is when they review the classes you chose.</p>

<p>That’s what i mean by grade inflation. The standard is to rate AP/IB on a 5.0 and at schools a 4.33 scale.</p>

<p>With 6.0 per AP, I would have a ridiculous 6.56 for only a meager 3.8 UW - and that’s for only completing 5 APs so far. So, an almost 3 point jump for 5 APs seems pretty inflated to me.</p>

<p>Worried, since you have a fee waiver, I am assuming that you are going to need a good financial aid package to go to these schools. Do research them–I recommend The USNews & WR Ultimate College Guide, go to a Borders or Barnes and Nobles and take a peek at it. Towards the front of the book, it does list the colleges that tend to give 90-100% of demonstrated need. Some school like BU which is merit tied in aid and NYU tend to gap big time.</p>

<p>You should also take a look at some smaller schools with big aid packages and schools that do not require SAT1s. Bates, Holyoke, Smith, are some of them. Some are excellent schools, again with generous aid packages. You would do well in the admissions route at those schools being first in your class and URM.</p>
