How significant does my grade have to drop to be withdrawn from Stanford ? I got 3.5UW last semester (i’m an international so i have finished highschool) and i got a C on Chemistry. My chemistry teacher wrote a very good recommendation for me. (before I got a C of course) Am I gonna get withdrawn??? I’m really worried…

One C is not going to kill you. Don’t worry about it. It has to be a pretty significant grade drop in a bunch of classes for you to be concerned. If it was straight C’s, or (God forbid) D’s, then you might have a problem.

significant grade drop is like a whole point drop in your GPA…like from a 4.5 to a 3.5

Signficant: for example a drop from an A average to a B average. Therefore, one or maybe even 2 Cs won’t kill you if you are doing well in other classes.

Oh darn… maybe I shouldn’t have COMPLETELY bombed that calc test last week.

oops!

Don’t worry dreamsicle! And congratulations for getting in! Hope you attend next year.
