Signing Bids after Rush

Where do we do the signing? Is it a centralized location or do we go to the house we choose or what?

Willard Straight.

Yeah, WSH art gallery. Tuesday afternoon if its the same as last year.

I seriously can’t wait for rush.

I had a dream about rush week last night…lol.

Is anyone willing to explain the whole pledging-into-a-fraternity process? Thanks in advance

you know how you register for rush on that website, have any of you received any info since doing that? i am mainly concerned about the rush schedule for different frats. ive seen KDR’s rush schedule online, and i want to see the same rush schedule for all the frats

Does it matter when I fill it out? I haven’t done it yet…due to my busy schedule that consists of watching TV and getting drunk.

Spanks what kind of dream lol

Martinez, just check the sites.

Mine for example. However don’t expect to see as complete a list as KDR’s for many frats. This is due to “liability” issues. Usually your best bet for a more complete schedule is to stop by a frat you are interested in during a smoker, they’ll usually have a little flier or some more info.

Jamison: After rush week is over you recieve bids from fraternities that want you. Then a few days later you to go WSH and sign an official bid with the fraternity you choose. Shortly there after a pledge program or some sort of new member education occurs. This usually lasts up to 8 weeks (University rules prohibit anything longer). The actual pledge program varries widely from house to house and in general is a closely (sometimes) guarded secret. Often it’s time consuming but crazy fun. After the pledging or educating period is over, there is usually some sort of formal initiation, and you become a brother. I think that’s about as much as you’ll get from any frat member.

Hey, mrnova, is there like a deadline for filling out those recruitment forms?

Haha, it was a sweet party and everyone was ****faced. This dream may have been induced by the keg party I was at last night.

Recruitment forms? What forms? I don’t remember forms lol. If I recall way back when, all I had to do was type my name into some online form.

Nice dreams, I prefer to live the reality  Yeah no keg parties at home sadly. But I’m hitting up Manhattan again tonight for a night/early morning of debauchery.

Is there a deadline though?

Manhattan is a wonderful place for debauchery.

Mrnova’s description is good, and, hes right, its as much as you will get out of anyone.

The whole registering for rush thing isnt that important. You can do it online but i know people who didnt even register and pledged. I dont even know what the formal registration gets you, because the signing of bids and such is done by the individual houses. I mean theres a centralized signing location but its the individual houses that do everything. You arent going to get burned by paperwork screwups.

Most houses will not post their complete scheuldes online for liability reasons, mainly because rush is supposed to be DRY. Yes, D-R-Y, thats funny isnt it? Since no house adheres to this, they generally dont list non-dry events (i.e. all of them minus smokers) in the public domain where either university officials or parents of prospective rushees could see it. For complete rush schedules, just stop by the houses during the first smokers and you will get a quarter card with everything on it.

Yeah I’m pretty sure all the forms and crap don’t really matter. It may matter a bit more for sorority rush because theirs is alot more methodical and set. It’s pretty stupid, they make you walk arround on foot all day to like every house and do stupid sh|t. And also they have like a big list of all the girls and they almost draft them or something, its bizare. Spanks, you may want to do it just in case. It takes 5 seconds, just put the bottle down for a minute and fill it out.
Yeah Manhattan is fun but expensive! Luckily I’ve found quite a few joints with some good deals. China beer is the best haha. It’s like on location pre-gaming.

Fine, I’ll do it tomorrow, lol.

registering for rush is important for girls, but not for guys…just make sure to go to the meeting at appel, monday the 16th at 7PM.

<a href=“Sorority & Fraternity Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Sorority & Fraternity Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University; here’s the link and make sure to click spring…

Hey thats my link ■■■■■■ :)

truuue truuue, ok mrnova…i’m ■■■■■■■■ :p

Hey, can you go to part of rush week? I can’t get back to CU until the 19th. The whole thing doesn’t seem too structured, but spar, you mentioned “meeting at appel, monday the 16th at 7PM.” I’m assuming this isn’t crucial. . .but ya never know. . .

Not really planning on pledging, but rushing would be fun.

Do whatever whenever, you’ll be fine.
