Signing up for a class with plan to possibly drop it?

<p>Basically I am very cautious about my gpa since that is all i have going for me,I have taken a max of 12/13 credits forever and maintained a 3.75 gpa in computer science.</p>

<p>I am allowed only to drop 2 courses in my college career…BUT as a student in my college of engineering I am allowed to drop 1 class a semester without penalty(?)

<p>I have no plans for graduate school.</p>

<p>Should i sign up for 15 credits so that I can attempt an extra class, if not drop it?</p>

<p>Will W’s on my transcript effect me whatsoever when doing the job/internship search ?</p>

<p>These are questions I really feel like are better suited for an adviser and not random kids on the internet who don’t know your school’s policies, probably aren’t as familiar with your field, and are really under no obligation to give a crap what happens to you.</p>

<p>But to contribute some random crap, the passage you quoted says you can drop a course without penalty. Without penalty usually means that the class does NOT show up as a W on your transcript.</p>

<p>At my school, we have a shopping period, where you can go to whatever classes you want, and can freely add and drop for the first two weeks.</p>

<p>If you drop any classes before the 7th week, it won’t show up on your transcript.</p>

<p>Still definitely check with your school, but I thought this was pretty standard.</p>
