My Mom is in a nursing home type floor at the hospital undergoing rehab to get her back on her feet after a fx spine. She will be there for at least two weeks.
I want to send her a package. I have never sent a package to a hospital -do you just send it to the main hospital address with her name on it? Do people send packages to patients in the hospital? I used to work in a hospital -but it was mostly in the OR -so no packages there LOL
Sure, patient name, c/o hospital name, room number etc.
ok thanks - I felt foolish asking but wanted to make sure it was something normally done.
That’s not a silly question. Many hospitals have a large campus which may include several buildings. In order to ensure the package makes it to your mother, you might consider calling the nurses station on your mom’s floor to get the exact address. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for your mother.
It happens all the time
Call the hospital where your mom is and ask them. They’ll direct you to the right people who have addressed this many times. (no pun intended)
Now THIS might be nitpicky but some hospitals are very strict with privacy. They might not be able to tell you your mom’s room number or confirm that she’s there unless she’s allowed people to know she’s there (which is something that’s usually asked upon admission in my experience). So just something to keep in mind when you call.
Best of luck to your mom.
You could also consider sending your package to a neighbor or relative
or friend of you mother’s and ask them
to deliver it if you are concerned about sending it to the hospital.
Also, might want to add something for her to share with the staff.
Hope she is feeing ok.
Thanks everyone. Yes -I could just send it to my sister. It is a little small town hospital. She is doing well, but at 78 is going to have a lengthy recovery.
