I’m not following you very well. Unlike Wikipedia’s articles, the guide is not freely editable. If you have any specific concerns about accuracy, I would be happy to address them.

I’m personally not saying that you’re incorrect but how can we be sure that everything you say on your writing guide is afterall correct.

thanks ■■■■■.

Because he scored a 2400 on the SAT and one would not write that much amount of work just so he/she can trick people. Plus there were people that reviewed his guide, and those people are also very intelligent (I believe they all scored 2400 as well)

Why would he post and help people still 900 posts later if he was misleading? He has a 2400 after all. To get that number, you have to be very educated on issues like grammar or math. No one said he is infallible, but he certainly can’t have that many mistakes on his guide!

I don’t believe there is a direct correlation between someone scoring a perfect score and their intelligence… Although the odds are probably billions or trillions out of 1, it is POSSIBLE to guess accurately to a 2400 assuming you never guessed wrong…

Anyhow, no need to get angry here… i merely want an answer based on evidence and not on the supposition that just cause he got a 2400, he is correct.

And i HIGHLY commend Silverturtle on his achievements in this guide and his Scores.

The burden is placed on the person who is claiming things to show evidence, not those who aren’t. If you see any errors, please show it to us. We might correct it, or such. But you haven’t showed any.

Actually i think you should reconsider what you read and believe before verifying that the information is correct. I for one do not know for a fact whether the written is correct or incorrect therefore i am just wondering if it is. A mere “Yes it is correct because a grammar book says so” would have sufficed instead of turning this into a battle based on conjectures.

Well, assuming no one had a problem with his guide as of yet, and it has gone 950 posts, and 68 pages without any complaints, its safe to assume, yes.

Oh, I have read his grammar section (I didn’t read all of it), and from what I read so far, everyone of it is correct (at least from what I read). Factually correct that is.

^What other kind of “correct” is there for that type of thing?

I am not following you. As in correct, I mean the grammar rules.

Nouns = Person place thing and etc… The basic principles.

Hey look, another trivial debate that spawned over nothing.

@nothingto

that’s exactly what i was looking for… no need to have made a huge deal out of nothing…

Wow Silverturtle, congratulations on passing the 1,000 post mark. You have done CCers a great service. Good luck with your senior year.

He’s almost up to 10,000 actually.

Also, I was not trying to argue or debate about anything; I was just saying you can definitely trust his guide.

Im sure ATLMOM meant the 1,000 post mark on this thread (its now 1,018), and not his personal post count ^^

Thank you. It is going well so far.

While the logical guidelines are different for formal arguments (as nothingto indicated), it is indeed good to know the credibility of what one is reading. There aren’t any impressive grammatical credentials that I can flash to assure you of the accuracy of what I wrote, nor can I point to an authoritative source from which the content is derived. I do, however, consider myself rather knowledgeable in grammar and attempted not to write about anything that I was uncomfortable with.

Since beginning this thread, I have found or have been made aware of a couple formatting and typographical errors in the guide, but the content is all correct as far as I know.

Yes, I meant the post count for this thread. Thanks for clarifying that. As far as his personal post count, I don’t know when he has had time to study with that many posts, but he obviously has many talents and posting is one of them.
