Simple T question

This is probably a dumb question, but–
If you are taking the T from Davis Square into Boston, would you take the INbound train?

first of all- lspf, there is no such thing as a dumb question, especially when it comes to the T. When you are in Davis, you want to take the Red Line inbound to head to Boston (probably via Park St), and outbound will take you one stop to Alewife (the final stop on the red line by rt. 2)

good luck!

Thank you, gojumbos!! It definitely seemed that inbound should mean towards Boston, but I just wanted to be sure…

park street defines inbound. if the train is heading towards park street it’s called inbound. so, you’d take the inbound train from davis to go to downtown. however, you’d take the inbound train again from, say, south station, to come back to davis as you go via park street. hope that makes sense.

Assumed inbound was the city in general- Thanks

But don’t get confused - if you’re at South Station and want to get to Tufts, you have to take the Inbound train b/c it goes towards Park street. and at Park street, I think all trains are Outbound.
