How dependent is SIMR acceptance on scores and grades? I currently have a SAT 2070, 770 Bio, and I interned at a lab over the summer and I have previous research experience. I know my SAT scores are bad; I took the test quite a whole ago and after continuous practice, I’ve been scoring 2300+ consistently on practice tests; sadly, I will not be able to take the test in time for it to show up when applying to SIMR. Is it impossible for me, an Asian-American to get into SIMR? I need to know as possible, as I don’t want to expend meaingless efforts.

The worst they can do is reject you, which is what you do to yourself if you don’t apply. You have everything to gain by trying. Sell yourself, don’t undermine yourself.

Honestly it’s not that great of an “effort,” as you say. The application is just information, and the essays aren’t too hard. The application only requires one letter of recommendation, which is actually less than all the other programs I’m applying to, which require two or three each. I say, just try.
