I’ve heard that McGill is a “sink or swim” school–really big, with no assistance from faculty. I think that I’m the kind of person who needs some help and guidance from faculty and teachers in a small school, since that’s the environment I go to school in already (800 students 6-12, 160 in my grade). But McGill intrigues me, and I dont want to blindly trust stupid college books. Does anyone know anything about this?

the thing with mcgill is that there are a lot of resources (first year office, etc.) but you have to go to them, they’ll never come to you.
its not as black and white as no help vs a lot of help. you get some hlep here, but not a lot

Don’t forget that your fellow students can be a great source of help. Visit your departmental undergrad society for example, as older students in the same program are in many ways much more in touch with student life than the profs and administration.
