Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

thanks all- still breathing that HUGE sighh of relief around here.
Mythmom-- send that nasty bottle of turned wine back and order a bottle of their finest. After all- you got post # 8800! Double celebration!

I’ll order a magnum of Don Perignon. It is Saturday night, and we deserve it. Do we have champagne flutes here?

Errr, did I say price was no object?? Silly me… A magnum of Dom? That should be consumed out of a glass slipper!

jym,

Congrats on jymson’s college acceptance. It is a great feeling knowing that he is going somewhere and leaving the basement next fall.

so now what are you planning for your new empty space???

Looks like I missed a big party Saturday night. We don’t often see Dom Perignon around here!

Congrats to jymson!

Saw S#2 Saturday afternoon–his team did acceptably well in this regional computer programming event vs. other colleges that fielded GRAD students, so they were happy. The coach said it was the best he could remember their college ever placing!

Wow! That quite impressive mommusic. Vundebar! (I think I have a bit of a hangover.)

hey jym, congrats to your S on that first acceptance. Permission to exhale granted!

Was at a wedding reception dinner last night. Menu on the table said (for the first course) “Cauliflower Sformato with Poached Shrimp, Pressed Melon & Amaranth.” What? I said. And then proceeded to eat mine, and then H’s, since he is allergic to shellfish. :)

congrats mommusic! And we saved som Dom Perignon for you… it’s in mythmoms mukluks under the table.

Sybbie-
Not sure what we’ll do with the basement. It will probably take a few months to dig out from the piles o’ crap and fumigate… Any ideas???

Hey momof2inca and nymomof2!!
Didnt mean to overlook you-- have a swig out of the bottle of Dom- I think there’s still a little left in the bottom. If not, maybe still some it the toes of the shoes and galoshes.

superyay to jym’s son, and a shout-out to mommusic’s S---- parents of nerds have to stick together!!! jym—just make sure you’re the one in charge of the basement renovations…you don’t want it to change from one man-space to another!

momof3 - Should we ask the fry cook to whip up some Cauliflower Sformato here in the Alley? Do you think beer nuts would make a nice garnish?

jmmom: LOL.

astrophysicsmom–nerdy, yes, but let me tell a story on this one. We got to the closing event before all the teams had arrived, and introduced ourselves to one of the guys in charge as the parents of ___ from X college. He lit up with recognition, “Ah, the good-looking one!”

I don’t think I even blushed. Just said, yep, that’s the one! :D

Amazing what a cute face & nice hair, combined with attention to hygiene, will do. ;)

He takes after his dad, of course…

Wow! That’s even better  Send him AstroD’s way. But wait! Is he over 6’ tall? That’s also preferable…actually better if he’s 6’2" so she can wear shoes around him.

Sorry, he’s 5’10" like all the other males in the family.

astrophysicsmom-
Actually, DH is threatening to put things like a plasma tv in the basement. As long as he doesnt mess with my wine cellar, he can do whatever he wasnts to the basement! It could use a facelift, asfter the mess the boys have made of it and the flood we had not too long ago. Which leads me to a question- if it was affordable, how often would up update paint, wallpaper, curtains, carpet, etc. Just did new carpet and some paint in main parts of the house, but one thing leads me to think about another, and I find I am thinking about getting rid of all wallpaper, painting, and updating the bathrooms. We did the fixtures, and redid the cabinets and appliances in the kitchen about 4-5 yrs ago, but the wallpaper was done 11 yrs ago (and wallpaper is now out, I believe) amd tje colors are out of dte. Pointers anyone?? Any decorators out there???

TJFS is heading for about 6’3", if she’ll accept a younger man. ;)

We BADLY need some of those math/science aptitude genes in our heavily arts-and-letters family gene pool…

Congrats, jym, I am sure that they will more to drink to for all the moms.

Young ladies, may I please have the empties?

Have I already had too much to drink, or is this a little hard to decipher???

Maybe we should have a few more to drink, and it will make sense then!
