Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

Sybbie! Perfect! Chicky would be proud of you!

GO SYBBIE!! You get to put up the decorations, too, I think. :)

Go all of us. :)

Laissez les bon temps roullez!!! (In honor of the Alley and jym’s S)

Go all of us. Go all of us. Go all of us.

For those who are celebrating, cheers to you.
For those who might be struggling, we wish you all light at the end of the tunnel.
For those who aren’t sure where they are, well, then let us decide. You are great and all will be well and all manner of things will be well.

Make mine a Junipero gin martini. At the age of 51 I have developed an allergy to wine of all types. No kidding.

not to butt in but sybbie did you get my pm?

Excellent choice for post #10,000. Have been watching and silently waiting. Congrats to jym626’s son! Super news!

an allergy to wine!!! good Lord – that would be about the end of me. You have my sympathies.

I for one hope the SA crowd keeps flocking to Tulane – and that my DD stays there. Imagine the live reports we could have from Mardi Gras next year!

Congratulations SA. You have truly provided some of the best CC moments ever – and the archives are always good for a laugh when things just suck.

But no sucking tonight – unless it’s on a straw in a glass with a little umbrella!

Missed the party. But got here in time to see that sybbie incorporated aubergine into the Big Post. Stellar. Doesn’t that match Chicky’s uber-purse? Or one of them?

jym, the DHS is big-big-big-big. Let’s add some fleur-de-lis to the decor in his honor.

Wow, a lot happened here between 4 and 5! I was picking up S from a President’s Day ski trip. Fun was had, no bones were broken or even sprained. ;)

Congrats to jymson!

I would have played Auld Lang Syne if I had been here…sorry folks. I’ll take requests now! How about “Those Were the Days” or “The Way We Were” or “Memories?”

“Happy Days Are Here Again?” :D

And pour me whatever the rest of ya’ll are having!

Congrats to jymson - what an honor!

I’d like to stay and have a drink with everyone here, but unfortunately, I off to play chauffeur again - maybe when I get back.

Little rainbow twinkly lights in the shape of fleurs-de-lis. Hung, strung, and flung as requested. All over the Alley.

Congrats jym’s son!

And here’s some confetti:

*** ** .* . .* .
. . . * .* .

  • . * ** *** . *
    . . .* . *
  • . * . *****

Cool!!! Confetti and Fleur de Lis, and mucho, mucho appreciated sentiments from all my CC/SA buds. It is nice to finally enjoy some good news…

Sybbie-
I agree, a round for all courtesy of DS! However, does earning the DHS mean he no longer qualifies for slacker status? That would be wrong, oh so wrong. He earned his slacker ranking fair and square-- beat out even more contestants for that one.
Alu-
An allergy to wine? That is just about the saddest thing I’ve ever heard of!! Except for maybe an allergy to chocolate or good bourbon. Living in No Cal and cannot drink wine? Oh, my heart aches for you… How about having a Long Island Iced tea tonight?? That’ll make you forget that you cant drink no stinkin’ wine!

By the way, a long time ago I found some way to supersize my pages on CC (well, I guess actually it would be condensing them somehow)- I get almost twice the number of posts on 1 page, so for me post # 1000 was on pg 250, not 666. I don’t remember where in the settings options it is, but having 40 posts on a page does make it easier to find posts and follow stuff. But hitting post #1000 and hitting potential paydirt on the same day. Well, it doesn’t get much better than that!

By the way, everyone, the party isn’t over, it has just begun!! Still celebrating with my noisemakers and marimbas over here on the corner table…

** actually, I do need to dampen the festivities for a second, and pay tribute to my DS’s pediatrician’s business partner, who I’ve known and referred patients back and forth with for over 20yrs. He died of an aneurism last week. He was only 50.

jym–it’s under Control Panel–Edit Options–Thread Display Options (bottom of that page). You can have the default page length, or set to 10, 20, 30, or 40 posts on a page.

I’m trying it at 40 for a while.

Of course, then you have to scroll down farther and hit “Save Changes.” Very important, that last bit. :D

mommusic, thanks for the tip and don’t worry about the airhead thing, as DD and I say “some days are blonder than others”. (and we are both brunettes ;)

congrats to jym on the fabulous scholarship for jymson!!

I had to go spying through CC to find the details…jymson heading to Tulane? Break out the beads…oh, wait…ivoryk’s daughter has them alll!!!

Dag-nabbit…I was off the internet – cold turkey – yesterday…proving that YES, I can QUIT anytime I want to. I missed the PARTY! :frowning: That shows me for actually trying to get things done around the house!!! I learned a valuable lesson…but I know I COULD kick this CC habit if I wanted to.

Would someone please kick my DS in the patoot and remind him that he has to bring a copy of his scholarship letter in to his college counselor?? I know he doesn’t like to crow about this stuff (I’ll do it for him:) ) but geez-- he needs to get the letter into the office (thats their procedure)

(kicking jym626 son as per her request)

GREAT news for your household! Huzzah!!

:D

Thanks, paying3tuitions! Hey, since my older s is graduating and younger s has almost a free ride, maybe I should soon change my SN to “payingnotuitions”  :D
