Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

I’m happy this week to pay the last semester of 1st S’s tuition–happy to only have one kid in college for the next foreseeable future. (If they all follow the 4 year plan. )Hurray!

:)

And our schools have a snow day today…the streets really are bad, unlike the snow day a couple of weeks ago when things cleared up nicely by 10 a.m. Wednesdays are sort of my day off anyway, but I should NOT spend it with a cup of tea, online. Ahem.

(Kicks self in patootie.)

OK, yes to the tea, but now to do something productive. And to tell DS to go do something productive.

OK, I practiced piano while DS shoveled. A lot. Then he practiced a little while I shoveled a little. Then he got a haircut and I cooked dinner. That’s enough productivity for one day, right? :)

Concept Diagram of Kicking Onesself in the Patootie

I was thinking, if all of us in the Alley kicked ourselves in the patooties each time we unproductively passed the time here instead of productively cooked/shoveled/worked/exercised/read/lived IRL…

there’d be an awfully lot of bruised and battered Sinner keesters (sp?).

Let’s all make sure we have extra padding on hand when it’s time for the

OTOH, maybe we could kick each other’s patooties! That would be productive, wouldn’t it?

And paying3 could be uber-productive by diagramming the process. :D

Arrrgh! Kicking myself for misspelling the word “oneself”!! (post 10024) And waited more than 20 minutes to check the dictionary, because I was reading about…Perfectionism!

Oh my, now it’s on the board…forever!!!

(crawling under yonder rock)

I like my diagram but will leave jmmom’s invitation ^^ to others more worthy than moi.

paying, there’s no one more worthy than you.

Because Sinner’s Alley is actually Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood with virtual alcohol:).

bringing up from page 2…

I’m smiling smiling; astrogirl emailed me a pic of her in a lawn chair, bundled up sitting in a lawn chair near a pile of snow, watching the lunar eclipse tonight :)

And I was always thinking that Mr. McPheeley the mailman, was usually hitting the bottle while on his mail rounds…he always seemed to be a bit strange to me!!!

astromom,
I’m sure she had a gaggle of buddies with her, too! :)

I saw the eclipse! It was actually not cloudy here for a change. And one S in another more Northern city saw it from his bedroom window so he didn’t have to go out in the brrr COLD to see it. (pooor thing.) :)

I posted this in another thread, in responses to ReneeV’s remembering my s’s post prom party this past spring. Figured if I posted it here, I could justify slipping some Bailey’s in my coffee  :

ReneeV-Funny you should remember the prom party. My s’s HS is hosting an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament the first weekend of Mar. (anyone’s kid coming to Terminus??) Anyway, they needed some families to host teams that couldnt afford to put their team up in a hotel. I figured it’d be about 5-6 kids, so I signed up. And oh, by the way, my H will be in Germany over that weekend. Come to find out its not 5-6 kids, but 18 sweaty, smelly players and their coaches Friday and Saturday night! Oh, and did I mention I had offered to help with our neighborhood’s progressive dinner Sat night as well? What was I thinking?!?!?!?! Oh, and to add to this, my s’s scholarship is of course contingent on his staying within the “code of academic and student conduct”. Well, as he is on the Ult Frisbee team, he has to stay here this weekend while we head to NY to take care of my dad. AAGGHH!! Can you say “party time???!!!?!?!” I have emailed the immediate world (including s’s gf’s parents!) that we will be gone for a few days. The neighbors are all in charge of him and assuring that no party will occur! I HOPE! This is not in my comfort zone! But we didn’t have much choice, and my h says I’d better get used to his being on his own! Lord get me through this!

Good luck, jym!! The Bailey’s doesn’t seem to be helping yet, so may I suggest fortifying it with a little Irish Mist?

(Crossing fingers for a good outcome!)

jym26 – you’re having a slumber party for 18 Ultimate Frisbee Players and their coaches? Wow.

Did I read that right?

An embarrassing moment from my younger days:

I was exhausted from a long day of skiing and, in a trance, followed our friend, Rich, through the ski lodge. Rich then walked into a large room, and, as I was standing in the doorway before entering, began to become conscious of the fact that I didn’t know where we were or why we were there. I then looked at Rich, who was standing in front of the wall in that large room. He gazed over at me, still standing in the doorway. There was a very puzzled look on his face. All of a sudden, it hit me like a brick wall: It was the Men’s Restroom, and he was, umm, you guessed it…taking care of business. My face burned from the blush of embarrassment. Further, I realized that there were some guys sitting on a bench in a hallway outside of the restroom, and that I would have to face them. It took all my courage to walk past their grinning faces. Rich never let me hear the end of that one!

^^^ sonssecty-
OOPS!!! HAHAHA. I’ve seen gentlemen at our airport who apparently don’t speak much English inadvertently use the Ladies room, but they didn’t have skis on their feet!

Mstee-
You read that right-- except its a TWO NIGHT slumber party!! (Friday and Sat nights!)

2cakes- feel free to spike my coffee a little more!

Two nights??? I’ll keep the “coffee” coming through the weekend. I think you’re going to need it. :)

Just don’t walk into the men’s room at the party.

Hey all! Anyone else dealing with the Flu bug that’s going around? Knocked our kids for a loop over the weekend, now Pima and I are down for the count. Guess we don’t have to kick ourselves in the ba-tootie for spending all day in bed surfing CC, when we’re not in a feverish nap or coughing our heads off.

Hope you all don’t catch this–it’s a doozy! (he says from behind surgical mask).

Oh well, at least I didn’t walk into the ladies room (recently…, but that a story for when I’m feeling better  )

jym–is this a co-ed team?

don’t worry about jym – she’ll be fine. I loved the thread on her post-prom party last year – wasn’t it a gallon of rum or something hiding in one of the (very heavy) bags a girl dropped off before the party? Just time to take another trip to the warehouse store and stock up on chips and muffins! Still… we’ll be looking forward to those 3 AM updates!
