Happy anniversary, Bethievt and BethieHvt! A big toast to you both!

Happy Anniversary to Bethie & Mr. Bethie!

Any Anniversary is a good one these days, and 21 is a nice chunk of time. Raising a virtual glass of something really expensive, and hoping you get to celebrate together soon. ;)

Quick. Stuff the Mardi Gras decorations in the kitchen. Cover the formica tables with white tablecloths. Turn the lights down low. Lower, I want the orange naugahyde to glow in a a beautiful burnt umber. Grab the old jugs of red wine out of the recycling. Light some red candles in them. 20. No, 21.

Set the Perrier Jouet on ice. In the pretzel bowl.

We need one slacker son who can play the saxophone, one on the keyboard, one who can play the snare, and one who will sing. “Moon River”, I think. All the rest of us out back. Last one out sweep the floor.

Dance, Mr. and Mrs. Bethie, dance.

Alumother - love the new decor! So Romantic.

Congrats to you and H, Bethievt. Also raising a glass of something very expensive to help you celebrate.

BTW, we were married the same year - only my anniversary isn’t until August.

Sounds lovely! Congrats to Bethievt and her H.

I always thought my anniversary song would be Gladys Knight’s, “You’re the Best Thing that Ever Happened to Me” and his might be 10cc’s, “I’m Not in Love”. But he is, of course; just in denial.

LIMOMOF2

Come back in August. We will raise the roof!

Bethie,

Happy anniversary to you and Hubby on the road.

And thanks, Alumother for the re-decorations! It’s lovely here!

as Pooh would say, “Many happy returns of the day.”

bethie: Some Napoleon Brandy for you and H.

garland: I think you are doing very well. I admire your humor. Hugs. My S has never earned a dime except modeling when he was little, so there’s a silver lining right there.

I mean the silver lining is that at least your S earns money!

Hey bethie and Mr. bethie! Hiccup! Can you tell I don’t do much drinkin’?
Congrats to you on your anniversary!

Here’s a virtual drink for you to celebrate with your virtual husband (since he’s elsewhere on your anniversary). Save the real stuff for when he shows up!

Pulling up from p. 2.

Are we all sleeping off last night’s anniversary celebration? ;)

And is anyone else tired of winter? If you’re in SoCal, Arizona, or Fla., don’t bother answering…

OK, wait just a sec… I was also married to The Tall Guy 21 years ago this August.

Dare we tempt the fates and figure out if we actually used the SAME WEEKEND to do the deed way back then?

The secret number is “8”.

mommusic – I’ve been dragging my sorry butt around with zero energy all day and I think it’s because it’s just been so gray for so long. This winter seems the bleakest in my memory – and that’s even with very little snow. Snow would be nice about now – at least it’s white, not gray. White russians all around!

ivoryk–you can have some of our snow. I’ll share!

We actually havn’t had a lot at a time, just enough to freshen things and get rid of the gray, so it’s pretty. But some areas have been hit with record snowfall amounts, and it’s still February. As you know.

White russians it is!

zips lip and places daffodils from front yard into glass vase on bar

I can contribute crocuses, but it’s been cold, gray, and wet lately, and I’m feeling sunshine-and-blue-sky-deprived.

Maybe I’ll cut some forsythia branches and try forcing them.

I’d be willing to try a white russian, but what’s a good hurry-spring beverage?

Happy happy anniversary, Bethie and H!

alu–I am genuinely torn between falling on my knees in gratitude and knocking that smirk off your face. (I know it’s there.)

$@%# Californi-yans.

Um,…thank you for the lovely flowers. They’re so…yellow. cries

Stange simultaneous grey skies, sunshine and snow flurries outside. Kinda nice actually…

For me, this winter hasn’t been that bad.
