Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 2)

We arrived in NH tonight to scout retirement towns. They’d had some snow where we’re staying - maybe 3”? Due to the “storm” there is one restaurant open in this small city: Margarita’s. Not a huge fan of chain Mexican, but I have to say their “naked” jalapeño margarita was surprisingly good!

Look at Portsmouth, great little town.

It is! But we are looking to land in the west side of the state where I grew up.

Sure!

Fill a glass with ice, pour some rum over the ice.
Next a layer of orange juice. We are partial to the Dole orange-peach-mango blend.
Over that, a smaller layer of pineapple juice.
Over that, a small drizzle of grenadine.
Depending on how Festive we are feeling, we may or may not put a small float of rum on the top.
Top with a maraschino cherry.
DO NOT STIR!

The rum makes a difference. Use something dark but not spiced. We like Mount Gay Eclipse.

Enjoy! :yum: I expect a picture soon!

Almost exactly what we do for Christmas morning mimosas only using champagne instead of the rum! And strawberries instead of cherries. I’ll have to say those Dole fruit blends make some pretty nice drinks.

This made me think of the Pousse Cafe, which a bartender once made me back in the early 70’s. And he did set the top layer aflame. It’s a pretty drink!

I was gonna attach a pic of a really pretty layered drink I made awhile back. So I went into Google Photos to find it. When filtered on “drinks”, so many photos came up that I got a little embarrassed. And I couldn’t even find the one I was looking for.:face_with_hand_over_mouth::tropical_drink:

We’re starting Cinco de Mayo early at work…headed into the city for some bar hopping. I wish you all could track me like those weirdos that track Taylor Swift’s jet.

If we’re doing Cinco de Mayo early, I’ll make myself a mango margarita with the awesome Williams Sonoma mix I got on sale last week. I’m to cheap to buy it at full price, but it is tasty.

I’m all for Cinco, but don’t forget the Derby today and tomorrow. We enjoyed mint juleps this evening and will probably repeat tomorrow. Margaritas will have to wait until Sunday.
