Hello everyone.I’m currently in my junior year at University of Missouri-St.Louis(commuter student residing in Illinois) and right now I’m trying to decide which graduate schools to apply to.At the current college I’m at now, they’re limited on programs so I’m trying to decide between SIUC and SIUE. How are the graduate programs there and the school overall??Any information will help!!

Would help to know what program you are looking at - My wife went to SIUE - Had a great experience and got a nice graduate assistantship. Still…a lot will depend on the program. That said, overall, I tend to think of SIUC as offering a bit more in general because of its size in comparison.

Im deciding on either the sociology program or instructional technology(part of the education department)

What program did your wife major in?

My D is currently at SIUC undergrad. I can’t help with grad programs, although it is a large school with many options. It has a beautiful campus and surrounding area if you like outdoor activities. (Lake on campus, hiking/camping/fishing, etc. nearby.) Check out their website for graduate programs and curriculum and also SIUE’s website. I also attended SIUC undergrad- and my dad received his chemistry PhD there. We all have had good experiences with academics as well as environment.

Carbondale has a better reputation overall, but it may not matter for your individual programs. See what kind of financial aid you get, to.
