I’m a Canadian high school student in Grade 12 applying to SJSU for either the Accounting or Finance program. My unweighted GPA is 3.94, and my SAT score is 1710 (didn’t really study too much). What are my chances for either program as an international student assuming money isn’t a problem?
I would say you have a 99.9% of getting in since average admitted gpa is 3.3. There’s nothing wrong with SJSU but why not aim for Berkeley if you’re looking for a school in that vicinity?
You will get accepted to SJSU for sure. And honestly, you’ll be very satisfied with SJSU for accounting. I am currently a student at SJSU. The campus is located in downtown San Jose along with EY, PwC, Deloitte, BPM, Grant Thronton, McGladrey, Frank Rimerman, Sensiba San Filippo, and KPMG right in Santa Clara. All of these firms recruit directly from SJSU. I am on a five year senior track to graduate with 150 units.
I applied to all of the firms mentioned above and I got offers from multiple firms and accepted an offer with one of the big 4 firms. All of my friends in Beta Alpha Psi got offers from firms. EY and PwC recruit alot of people every Fall semester from SJSU. Its crazy. If you choose SJSU, you have to join Beta Alpha Psi. All of these firms sponsor Beta Alpha Psi at SJSU and they have tons of events throughout the semester so members can network with recruiters and the firm’s professionals.
That’s great to hear. Thanks for the valuable insight. Do you have any information on the finance program at SJSU?
