Ski season - 2025/2026

Gosh, been hoping for that in Colorado.

The Colorado season has ended for a number of resorts and those that remain open have very limited number of runs open.

It’s hard to run a resort when it is 50 degrees at the base day after day, and nothing but slush at the base. Yesterday we had a trace of rain in Denver and today it is back to sunny and 70.

Yea, all very glum. Due to weather and various family obligations out of state, I only got out twice (Eldora) with my first ever annual pass… sigh. Any hope A-basin will stay open? It’s on my bucket list.

A Basin will stay open, but the quality of skiing will be bad. They can make snow on one main run.

Last year my Daughter did the Colorado 9 (9 runs at a ski resort, 9 holes of golf, 9 innings of baseball, which sort of limits the days you can do it to Saturdays in late April or May) and the skiing was pretty bad then but they didn’t care as they were just playing around. I think they went May 9th?

So glad they got some snow! Mammoth also got almost 2 feet of snow. Wish we could go for a couple of days skiing, but we have plans all weekend then off to Charlotte next week to meet D1 and SIL and watch GD while they attend a wedding.

My S and DIL hope to ski in Hokkaido, I believe. S and D skied a little in Denver in November, DIL had to work.

The photo was up 2 chairlifts. They were lucky to have those conditions. The base was still pretty grim and only a few runs were open. But the place was pretty empty and the five-year-old now finally loves skiing and they had a great day. This was huge for the family.
