Daughter was accepted with the Porter/Wachenheim and an additional grant. We were shocked (but thrilled!) to get the non-merit aid as her other offers have included very little in the way of need-based aid.
She is also a finalist for the Filene scholarship - we truly did not think she’d get the science award but had high hopes for the music scholarship and are now combing the website to see if you are even allowed to receive both. If not, we will probably not make the trip up there next week for her to compete in the finals!
She has another good friend locally who was also accepted and got a generous grant aid offer. That student didn’t apply for the science scholarship and applied for but did not make the finals of the music scholarship.
). She’s a likely science major but her passions are definitely in visual art and dance, and Skidmore just offered more in that area. Plus had the added benefit of a 3:45 hour drive for us here in NH vs two plane rides, lol.
