<p>You really need to visit, especially evenings on a weekend, to assess the culture. Skidmore does sell alcohol and permits possession and consumption for students of legal age. Published statistics indicate 500+ annual disciplinary actions for alcohol abuse and another 100+ for drugs. That works out to about one disciplinary action for ever 4 students per year. That seems very high but the problem could be much worse since it is difficult to know if Skidmore has aggressive or lenient enforcement of policies.</p>
<p>The Skidmore Dynamics singing group threw my singing group a fantastic party in the Townhouses about (gulp) 8 years ago. At that time, anyway, the college was quite lenient about alcohol enforcement, and there were many people drinking at the party, but 99% of what I saw was moderate, safe drinking. The campus was extremely friendly and welcoming to us as visitors.</p>
