should I take the adjunct class for math 1A? Does anyone know if the SLC adjunct classes are really useful?

The problem is I’m 3rd on the waitlist for ESPM 50AC, and the lectures for the adjunct class and ESPM happen at the same time. Plus, I have to show up at the first meeting of the adjunct class in order to get the CCN, and there is a limit of 25 people. If I go to the adjunct class, I’d be giving up my chance for ESPM, and vice versa, and I don’t even know for sure if I could get into either one of them in the end.

ive always thought of slc as being for students who are struggling A LOT. if you think you have pretty strong math skills, you probably won’t need the extra class.

yeah an advisor told me it was for people who have Bs but want As, but that didn’t really make sense because why wouldn’t everyone want to take advantage of something like that?

So what math classes did you take?

I feel loserific because I decided to go with the 1 series, and I’m going to do social sciences… and it’s not like I really enjoy math or anything.

im in a social science as well and would never ever consider taking any math class at berkeley and ESPECIALLY not math 1a. instead, you should be taking basic stats (2 or 20), your department’s stats + methods class, and maybe some upper division stats classes. i highly recommed stats 131a.
