Sle

Has anyone here taken SLE? And if so, is it really has intense as the website makes it sound? What are the pros and cons to it? I know you get a closer relationship with all the people in it, but is getting to know more people better? O__o

Don’t do it. For the love of god don’t do it. SLE sucks. We label all weird kids as “SLE kids.”

Haha, alright. Thanks for the suggestion =D

SLE is a great program, but it’s not for everyone…

wow…that article was SCARY

Okaaay, NOT doing SLE x___x

yeah I have a friend who’s a SLE kid, but I never see her. And when I do, she’s pretty stressed. And it just sucks to have class in the evenings… makes it impossible to do a lot of other things.

so its basically a less Western-oriented alternative to the core? I don’t quite get what exactly it is… sounds pretty weird

It’s basically what you take if you want to work really really hard and you like reading books by dead white guys.

SLE books:

http://www.stanford.edu/~joseles/fotos/SLElibros2.JPG

they read all those books in 10 weeks?? wow…

do people like this class? the article made me want to take it to challenge myself, but then not want to take it because of the time commitment and social segregation…

is there some sort of orientation about the program us pre-frosch get - in other words, how does one make an educated decision whether or not this program is right for them?

Yeah, see…those are books that I’d be willing to read at leisure just for reading’s sake…but with a time limit and essays…holy crap x___x;

just by talking to current students, both SLE and non-SLE. People who take SLE usually like it, for the record.
