Sleep or suck it up?

So I’m one of those people who gets pretty tired around 4:00 PM. I do my homework at this time so I’m wondering what I should do…take a tap or drink coffee? (I go to supper between 5:00 - 5:30.) Which is healthier?

Why don’t you try out each one for a bit and see which works better for you…

Well, what time are you getting up?

I get up at 5:00 AM (I have work study at 6:15)

Well, I don’t know how long you work every day (or if it’s taxing), but I’d just drink one cup of coffee maybe an hour or so after you eat lunch and see how it goes. If at all possible, I’d do homework earlier. I don’t do any homework past 8 PM because that’s when the ideas stop churning for me and I wake up at 5 AM. Then again, I don’t work so that may give me some extra energy.

My girlfriend has a work study and she just studies during that time while she’s there and it’s slow. Again, not sure what you do.

Take the nap, ditch the coffee. That’s what I do.

In my daily life, the coffee always wins over the nap, but it’s different for everyone I know. Some people absolutely need a nap at their crash time in order to make it through the day. I’m like that with my 3PM cup of coffee. Why don’t you try a couple of things and see what works best for you?

A 30 minute nap can give you a boost far greater and healthier than a cup of coffee. A 1-3 hour nap and you’re good to go for many more hours. Coffee just dulls your brain.

Short term (if you need to cram), coffee. Long term, napping is healthier and better.
