Sleepwear

I’m 25 and I tend to sleep in flannel pants or sweatpants and a t-shirt, but really nice quality flannel pajamas are on my wish list. So many places make things out of cheap flannel or fleece and it’s just thin.

As someone else who is pretty busty, I think that if I were spending with people I didn’t know well, I’d probably want to wear a very fitted tank top or one with a built in bra under a looser pajama top. I can’t imagine sleeping in a sports being comfortable (seriously, I don’t want to turn this into the TMI thread, but I feel like that would lead to a skin rash?), but I might put one on under my PJ’s in the morning. Or throw a sweatshirt on over them.

eirann-the hanes tank-style sports bra is totally unconstructed. It’s T shirt material with a white cotton T-shirt material lining. It’s a stretchy pullover bra with no hooks or adjustments. Very comfy like a cami shelf bra.

My girls would probably just wear yoga pants for lounging around the house with a t short or if cold a hoodie - when they sleep its a tank top and sleep shorts. My girls wouldn’t want anything matchy- matchy.

Without getting too graphic, when I wear a sports bra, I end up with skin tightly pushed together. That’s why I don’t think my skin would love sleeping in one.

A looser one could definitely work, though. I never buy sports bras that aren’t really tight, so that could definitely be the source of my confusion.

How about a Cute one piece? These have a good range:

Sleep pants and a t-shirt here. The pants can be flannel but not always. Some of her pants are just cotton knit, others are microfleece. T-shirts are mostly old sport camp t-shirts :D.

For me, I like real pj’s, matching top/bottom. Kohl’s and Macy’s have excellent pj’s and surprisingly so does Walmart. I just got some new ones from walmart that are baby blanket soft–love them. They shrink, a lot, so might be a good option for your petite DD. They button up the front.

I can’t wear a bra to bed.

I have always bought my girls PJs for Christmas. For several years,I’ve bought them from Bedheads. They have them in flannel or jersey, and there are always deals at this time of year. They’re pricey but they are of excellent quality and they last forever.

I also have some waffle weave tops from the men’s department-Hanes brand-that are a nice weight, not too heavy, not too light and soft. They are great for comfy sleeping shirts. I think they are supposed to be for wearing under a regular shirt for extra warmth. They would be good for the SO visits–get a dark color so the assets don’t show through :D. I have a couple roomy sweatshirts that I pack when visiting in the winter. Bathrobes are too bulky to pack and the sweatshirt does the job of covering and warmth.

My kids (both D) would not be caught dead in matching jammie tops & bottoms these days. We used to do the pajamas on Xmas eve thing when they were younger, which made for cute photos on Xmas morning. I suppose if I gave them some now they would wear them on Xmas, but not outside the house (sleepover, college, visits to SO houses, etc.).

My kids like cottom pajama/lounge pants. They say flannel “sticks to the sheets” and is too hot. And they wear t-shirts, mostly old sports team shirts. Their favorite pants are from Life is Good.

It has never occurred to me to wonder what D1 wears for jammies at her sig other’s house. She spends quite a bit of time there (it was close to their college, and she now lives in the same town as his family – and he is living at home because his job takes him on the road all the time). I assume the same as home - lounge pants and a t-shirt. Hopefully one that is not too ratty.

I dont normally think about what they wear to sleep in either, although oldest has been visiting her sig others parents for about three years for holidays, which she didn’t do till she was long out of college.
But this year is the first that youngest has a serious sig other( that I am aware of) and culturally his family may be a tad more conservative.
However, she also has a sensory disorder and I haven’t bought her clothes without her trying them on since she was about ten, so I think I will just suggest that if she would like to get something new, I will pay for it.

I usually just stick to hats and mittens- stuff they can wear to breakfast Xmas morning!
But a sweatshirt is a good idea- D has mentioned she would like one from her favorite brewery.

I just bought all my sisters and my daughters in law sleep sets at Sams. They have lots of nice sets. The ones I bought are fluffy pants with a zip top. They can sleep in a cami and then put the top on when they get up. They also have nice sets at Costco but I love the warm ones at Sams. I get myself a new set every year.
