<p>So my supplemental paper for St. Mary’s is slightly controversial.</p>
<p>I wrote about how my friend’s drug use affected me and how I helped him and how it changed me.</p>
<p>I also have to turn it into my english teacher, since they made it a requirement for our grade.</p>
<p>Would writing about drug use in my paper, if it wasn’t me, get me in trouble?</p>
<p>No upside to the topic; surely you can think of something else.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t go there. This is your shot to show yourself and your qualities in the best light, and you want to start by showing you are associating with drug users?</p>
<p>In my defense, I didn’t know they were using them and when I found out I tried to stop it…</p>

<p>It does… but this is still a topic to generally avoid. Think if you were an admissions officer (without knowing the full story). Topic: Drugs. Uh oh. Subconscious dislike (even if they eventually understand. Just my 2 cents</p>
