Slim Chances Most Likely

I am currently a senior in high school.

GPA: 1.9

I have had a eye disorder which sometimes made me not able to read text clearly, and had around 12 surgeries to fix my vision. This threw me off a lot on my academics.

SAT: 2150

I volunteered at hospitals 3-4 times a week for a couple months now.

Worked 4 times a week since freshman - senior year at a resturant

My ECs are not great since I’m very limited to activities with my medical problem.

What are my chances of getting into an actual 4 year college

I have no idea what I can get into since I got great SAT but poor GPA

I want to do something in business so if you could list some universities for me it will be great.

What state are you in, what can your family afford and what sort of school environment interests you (large/small, urban/rural, etc.)? Also, will you need a school with the resources to provide accomodations for vision disability or is your corrected vision now within the normal range?

I would like to go to a medium/large urban enviorment

My vision is also now corrected as told by my doctor. He said it is perfectly in tune with normal eyes a month back.

Money is not a problem.

We are also located in Mass.

Are you kidding?
Of course you have good chances
that was a serious condition and you could totally write about it while applying everywhere
And now that you can see clearly, you are ready for a new beginning
You definitely have a chance and that’s an amazing SAT score and your gpa is understandable from what you’ve gone through
good luck

After your vision was corrected, did your GPA jump dramatically up? If not, your story won’t hold water with colleges.

Not to sound insensitive, but I don’t understand how your GPA could have fallen so low, even with you having a medical condition. Did you and your family not bring the subject up to your school? Because as is with the case with most disabled students, they are able to reach a compromise with their schools. I just don’t see how a school could have let one of its students get mostly Ds and Fs without doing something.
