Small campus and few students..?

Cal tech would be one of my choices if it had more people. Personally, I would probably prefer a big campus with a lot of people. But can anyone describe to me why they might choose a small campus?

Small campus creates unity among the student body. Less confusing to get around.
Fewer students mean smaller classes, most likely will result in you learning more. Fewer students also creates more opportunities in ECs such as theater and sports.

-community feel
-smaller classes
-higher chance that the professor will actually teach you and not a TA
-opportunities for leadership positions (EC’s will be smaller so you’ll be more influential)
-better chance that you’ll be able to do research

I think you should visit if you can; it may not feel as small as it really is. I go to a school of about 1200, and there are still plenty of people I don’t know. Go check out the facilities and make sure they’re on par with what you’re looking for. Proximity to LA could also make a difference in how small it feels–If you can easily go off campus and do stuff, you’re less likely to get claustrophobic. So check out accessibility to the city.
