Well next year our school will have 4 small schools in the entire school. The names for these schools are School of Health Science, School of Engineering, School of Fine Arts and Global Studies, and School of Integrated Technology. We already have Health Science and Integrated Tech. open. But what happens is the school gets divided up. We have about 1,500 kids and we get split up between the four schools, but you do get to choose what school you want and they have to meet a certain quota. I think this is stupid because colleges won’t look at what school your in to depend on what you can do in college. We still have the same core classes just different electives. This program was made by Bill Gate’s wife. Our former principal got 11 million dollars for this and it’s suppose to go to the school but what happens is he gets in and then splits up between him and his friends he chose to help run it. Isn’t this the most stupidest thing you’ve ever heard. What does everyone think?

We have something like that, but they’re called “tracks” instead of “schools.” Here our track is basically determined by what level of math you’ve taken, and it determines your classes for the next four years. Usually the teachers/GC explain the “program” system in their recommendations.

I tend to think things like this are good – but only if you know what you want to do with your life in eighth grade. If so, it’s good because you’ll get to work with more motivated students, etc.

we have the academy of finance

Umm… what can different mini schools do that one big ones with many ones can’t? Way to go Melinda Gates!
