So way back when, I wrote a cookbook. Dh had it printed off and spiral bound for me but now it’s falling apart. I think I’d really like to put all of my recipes onto an Alexa. I’ve looked at the AllRecipes and Sous Chef skills, but neither get very good reviews. I don’t really use other recipes, so being linked to something like epicurious or food network isn’t very important to me. Ease of use is far more paramount. Does anyone have a good experience with any particular app for this?
I keep a lot of my recipes on Evernote. But I don’t use Alexa so not sure of how to make that connection. I have found it very easy to use the Evernote app on my phone to search recipes, ingredients, etc while I’m in the grocery store. At home I can pull up the recipes on an ipad or print one from my computer.
I don’t understand “put all of my recipes onto an Alexa”. Do you want Alexa to read you off a recipe??
How many pages or recipes do you have in your cookbook?
We’re getting an Echo Show for the kitchen with a screen approx the size of an iPad mini. I know that there are Alexa skills where you can bring up a recipe by voice. You can then ask it questions like “How much cinnamon?” or “What’s the next step?”
And it will also show up on the screen in text form.
I’d say there are probably about 75 recipes that I’d like to compile in one spot.
Ah ok, you are adding on the Echo Show component - that makes more sense.
Why don’t you trial a few recipes that way and see how it feels to use with the Echo Show?
