I saw a thread a while ago on the Apple watch. DH has an android phone and I’d like to get him a smart watch (that looks like a dress watch) that’s compatible with it. I’ve done research online and there are mixed reviews with almost every watch! What are your experiences with a smart watch?
Garmin makes awesome smart watches that look like real watches - the Fenix line. It can be sync-ed with an Apple or Android phone via an app. Check the DC Rainmaker website for unbiased reviews.
My Mr. was reluctant to set it up at first, but now he absolutely loves his Fenix. It displays texts and calendar notifications on the screen. If the watch’s GPS sensor detects that Mr. is moving to his meeting location, the watch will display updates on the traffic and arrival time. 
It also displays news… Just now he looked at his watch and read me a headline (a sad one).

His watch has a wrist HR function built in, but there are cheaper versions without it (but they still can be synced with a chest strap).
Thanks, @BunsenBurner, I hadn’t seen the Garmin. It has the look that DH likes. How is the battery life?
Battery life is very good; he keeps his HR function on constantly which drains the battery and can go 2 days without a charge.
