Those are hilarious. You know, back in the day they used to make official Smith College china, like really nice expensive china with Smith buildings and symbols on it. Carol Christ told me all about it once at a tea. I guess the college has a fairly complete set of the china, but every time some comes available at an auction she gets a bunch of calls from old school alums and trustees insisting that she purchase it for posterity immediately.

I’m a little sad that they put my house (Haven-Wesley) on two mugs instead of just the one. :(

ETA: It looks like the point of the mug is to demonstrate the history of the buildings (Sessions and Sessions Annex, for instance, are listed separately), but still. We’re just the one house. :)

I have! I actually ordered one a few weeks ago as a gift for a family friend. I ordered one of the larger mugs with one of the Green Street houses on it and it was very well done. The photo and wording were very clear – it was honestly prettier than I expected! The mug was packed tightly with bubble wrap, so no shipping problems.

Swizzle could not be more legitimate. They have a strategic alliance with Pitney Bowes, a Fortune 500 company. Not to mention, Lenora Paglia is a respected Smith alumna and Conservator and Curator of Art at the Staten Island Museum. She also restored many paintings for Smith’s Art Museum. As MomTj stated, Ms Paglia’s mugs are of the caliber and quality Smithies expect. :)

Well, if you’re keeping track for pyramid marketing purposes, I bought two and one of the local Smith Club members I e-mailed has already bought two.
