SMU Early Decision= Poor Scholarships for 2014?

I heard that SMU is not going to offer substantial scholarships to applicants in the brand new Early Decision process (versus the existing Early Action process), under the theory of “we already captured that applicant, we don’t need to entice them with scholarships.” This is the first year SMU offers ED. If this is true, this is a terrible result. Other prestigious universities reward ED applicants, not penalize them.

This is not true. Students are reviewed for and will be awarded academic scholarships in the same way under all decision plans.

@2014Apple - you created an account just to post an unsubstantiated rumor?

There is no truth to this at all. ED will be considered the same as EA/RD for scholarships and programs.

When do application decisions come out

When will we hear from SMU for EA? What about specific school?
