Snoop Dogg

I love Snoop.

Never read a Wikipedia. Know nothing about him.

But he’s everywhere - football, Martha Stewart, the Olympics. I think I even saw his picture in the Rock Hall of Fame. He’s everywhere.

Who is this guy and why do I love him so much ?

Am I wrong ?

He’s also a coach on the upcoming season of The Voice. And while he’s known for rap, he can in fact sing.

You are not wrong. I remember him from early in his music career and at one point in my life I actually knew someone who had been his high school English teacher lol

He’s great. No worries, no drama, no stress, just good vibes. Of course, a lot of that is chemically induced, but all the same…

Looking forward to watching him as a coach in the upcoming season of The Voice.

My D met him years ago when he came to her campus for a music festival (D was on the committee that brought him to campus). The first thing she commented on was the smell when the door of his tour bus opened … the second thing she said was that he was genuinely nice. He really impressed her.

Not sure I need to see more of him at the Olympics though.

I don’t understand why he is there. We thought he was a big donor.

We love Snoop! If you don’t mind some salty language he has a series of videos on the animal kingdom that are absolutely hilarious.

A very likeable personality.

Snoop is absolutely owning the Olympics. He’s hilarious. Google his bit with Kevin Hart about Equestrian and Southwest Airlines (warning NSFW language).

I mean, it’s Snoop. Viewers should take that as a given.

I’m really not a big fan. I think he’s genuine in liking the athletes and the spectacle, but I always remember how he pushed his son to play football for USC and his son didn’t even want to do it. Snoop moved him to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas (and his daughter too) and then son got into USC but really didn’t want to do it so quit without playing much (or at all).

Snoop also has done a series so daily rap affirmations for young children.

I was a bit hesitant when I lfirst heard it was Snoop
who did them, but they’re great, Very straight forward and age appropriate for toddlers and pres-schoolers.

He even has his own Tonie figure. It[s named Doggland.

And interestingly, he also sells wine under the 19 Crimes label. His red blend is actually quite drinkable.

He’s interesting! He carried the torch representing LA, who will be hosting a future Olympics.
His commentary on Dressage competition is really funny.
He’s not all family friendly, some of his music is pretty raw. Some of it I love. And yes, I think this is the Summer of Snoop, he has a lot to promote. He and Martha seem to have a weird, genuine friendship. It might have been born out of PR but they are great together.

i was quite skeptical of Snoop being a commentator but he brings some levity and interest to the games. Love his badmitton commentary. I have been pleasantly surprised!

Oh, he’s a commentator too - I missed that.

This dude is just…fun.

I have to learn more about him.

If you google Snoop Dogg + Net Worth it says $160 mil.

Wow - I really missed all about him - but he does seem to appeal to all (or most).

I think he is fun, but I still don’t get why he was chosen to carry the torch. There are plenty of fun, entertaining celebrities who have no real connection to the Olympics.

Personally I would have chosen someone who is an Olympic legend - Micheal Phelps comes to mind.

Snoop on the steeplechase at the US Olympic trials . . .

Love it - listen, none of us know about these sports or badminton - so he’s learning real time.

That’s fun.

Thanks for sharing.

All I saw was him and the swimmer’s wife (Dressel maybe) - and I don’t know how he got placed there or if she even knows him - but yeah, he’s everywhere.
